sorry i haven’t been up to date with the blog, been doing some research that I haven’t yet put up on the blog and will be doing some with in the next couple of days. As you know I am researching on “killer women”, and how they are been portrayed in the media and how the use of langauge effects this, i have found out that women are seen to be evil and unhuman compared to males when it comes down to murder this is because people dont expect women to behave in that way and it makes other angry. i believe that theres always a reason for ones behaviour and the media is mostly one sided!

research method
i have used alot of secondary data so far because i am lookin and the way tghe langauge is been used and i am comparing each of the articles, i have also done some of my own primary reseach my using articles from existing information and edited ones and geting people to choose which article they think is real! so far i have found that people are going for the more aggressive one which the media have wrote i will be still carrying out the research as i have not made enough to make a prediction.

Rosemary West has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 10 young women and girls.
Justice Charles Mantell told Britain's most prolific female serial killer she should never be released.
West's victims include her 16-year-old daughter, her eight-year-old stepdaughter and her husband's pregnant lover.
The 41-year-old mother displayed no emotion as she was sentenced.
Her solicitor told reporters she would appeal against the verdict, saying adverse media coverage had prejudiced the trial.

Myra Hindley: Child Killer
Myra Hindley became a female icon of evil after she and her lover, Ian Brady, were found guilty of murdering and abusing children in the 1960s.
from jus the opening of the paragraph and the title we can see that the language used striaght away is blunt and very to the point, it also mention that there where someone else helping her. so why is it that women are been protrayed more evil than men?

currently
at the moment i have gathered 3 articles of each case study and am going to rewrite the articles and then going to ask people what article looks more right for each case study, once i have gathered the results, this will help me on how the 3 case studies have been represented in the media and how the use of language effects peoples choice of article.
